Speaking about Tropical, this is what Getintothis had to say:
"There’s something about this track that draws you in and before you’re aware, has you drifting away on its ambient, meandering vibe.
Charity Shop Pop is the solo project of Ormskirk boy next door, David Hughes. Tropical is primarily an experimental, synthesised mix of electronic sounds, beats and lolloping vocals that appear to have been recorded the other side of a closed bathroom door, whilst made in the bath. But don’t let that put you off.
The song itself laments the time-honoured male blunder of pining for all those out-of-reach girls, when the right one for you was there all the time – and probably living next door!
Planning to release one track per month, this is Charity Shop Pop’s latest instalment. A thoroughly decent pop tune and well worth your attention."
My latest single is out now on Spotify and Apple Music and all that good stuff.
While I would class myself as an indie pop or rock artist, my latest track is a significant departure from that. While it has guitar elements in there, I experimented a lot with ambient and rhythmic sounds, which gives off this weird tropical vibe, hence the name of the track. It has taken a while to perfect and master, as I'm a perfectionist that won't do with substandard work. I hope you enjoy it and please let me know any feedback you have!
This is the second track that I have released this year, with a plan to release a new track every month. In March I will be bringing out a track named Gold, which is more back to my roots, with lots of jangly guitars and indie riffs.
This Thursday (1st Feb), I'm supporting Ali Horn in Liverpool, at the Jacaranda. I'm on at 8 and tickets are £4. It should be a good night of decent music!!

My first ever single, Fire, is out now! It has been championed by Dave Monks on BBC Introducing Merseyside, which was a huge honour and privilege. It is now available to listen to on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube and all the other main services.
